MEET THE ARTIST
Arden Upton
Arden’s art is rooted in heritage and inspired by the quiet elegance of nature.
Arden Ward Upton is a Southern artist whose luminous, nature-inspired paintings reflect her deep family legacy and love of the natural world. Influenced by her great-grandmother, a prolific oil painter, Arden carries on the tradition with her own impressionistic style.
From her equestrian estate in Alabama, she paints landscapes, botanicals, and abstracts inspired by her travels to places like Italy, Provence, and the Berkshires. Each piece invites calm, beauty, and a sense of place.

A MOTHER'S HEART
My Journey Back to Painting
"My Heart" is a love letter to motherhood and the miracle of second chances.
After eight years of infertility and unimaginable loss, Arden experienced the miracle of IVF and the birth of her son, Wills. That moment—the sound of his heartbeat—rekindled her creative spirit and brought her back to the canvas.
The "My Heart" series reflects this journey, blending soft skies and floating hearts to honor motherhood, resilience, and the love that carried her through. Each piece tells a story of healing, hope, and joy.
LIGHT. MEMORY. NATURE.
Inside My Process
Every painting begins with light, memory, and a sense of place.
Arden paints from memory, guided by light, emotion, and the landscapes that live in her heart. Her process is intuitive and deeply personal, often unfolding without a plan.
Whether painting en plein air or from her studio, she lets the feeling of a place lead the way—capturing beauty through expressive brushwork and layers of oil paint.
